With transportation options for communication within the City of Dubai, RTA is actively creating road plans, expanding metros, and introducing sea taxis, all of which contribute to Dubai’s progress in the future.

The Dubai metro currently has 53 stations and travels 57 kilometers within the city. The tracks are known as the RED and Green Lines, and the new Blue line will be launched in 2029 with 14 stationsโ€”5 of which will be underground and 9 of which will be above ground.

Red line Dubai metro

Center Point is currently where the Red Line, also known as R11, begins. It ends at R76 Expo 2020, with a total of 35 stops. Union, the location where RED and Green intersect, is one of the key stations, along with Airport Terminals 3 and 1. That is the intersection of two locations. Other well-known stations include Expo 2020, the World Trade Center, and the Mall of Emirates. 

Green Line Dubai Metro

The Red Line, also called R11, currently starts at Center Point. With a total of 35 stops, it concludes at R76 Expo 2020. Among the important stops are Airport Terminals 3 and 1, as well as Union, the intersection of RED and Green. That is when two places converge. The World Trade Center, the Mall of Emirates, and Expo 2020 are among other well-known stations.

Tram Line

With eleven stations, two of which link to the Red Line, the Dubai Metro Line is a must-see attraction. It is a coastal metro line that connects to the Red Line at the R36 Sobha Realty and DMCC stations. On the surface, the scenery of the coastal districts makes it a very engaging route to get to places like Media City, Merina Towers, and Palm Jumeriah. 

Why use Dubai metro?

The Dubai metro is the most practical and efficient way to move around the city. As Dubai’s temperature rises to between 53 and 55 degrees Celsius, it will be more comfortable to commute from one location to another in an air-conditioned environment.

Operational timings

The Dubai Metro is open from 5 a.m. to 12 a.m., which is a fantastic time to travel. On Friday, it will be 1 a.m. till nightfall, and on Sundays, it will be 8 a.m. to 12 a.m.

Regarding the fees, if you are a single user and wish to move within Dubai, you must go to a vending machine, enter Dirham, and receive a Dubai one-time metro token. You must then swipe the token with the machine and submit it at the end. The cost is 4 AED for Silver class and 8 AED for Gold class. You can enter zones one and two, but you will need to purchase an additional one in order to enter zone three. 

NOL card 

Nol cards are popular and come in two different pricing points: 25 AED for silver cards and 75 AED for gold cards. The NOL Card must have a minimum balance of 7 AED.
